Eight years after (or more)
..... One of the longest jobs outstanding on the
Working Week list has been to fit a drain cover to the mantrap
situated by the main kitchen sink. This was originally
provided for the phantom contract cleaners who were to come in and
maintain cleanliness. Andy Amatt together with brother Simon
installed a very neat cover, solving the problem at last.

Mrs. Lister's hidden talent
..... Before the dragons moved in properly, the
main kitchen was thoroughly cleaned, along with the fan, microwaves
and ovens. The walls were washed and painted where
appropriate. When Tess Lister undertook to paint the ceiling, we were
treated to an unexpected ballet performance. |

Where there's more smoke
..... The smokers, now banished from the
cottages, have had to find new locations in which to pursue their
habit. Here, Dave Edwards pretends to be measuring up some
wood for a bunk ladder while Lel Davies wishes the photographer
would move on as the cigarette in her left hand is beginning to
singe her backside. |

The mini-skirted monk
..... Geoff Amabilino and Alison Reynolds set to
with pointing the fireplace wall in the new No.3 Bunk Room.
Shortly afterwards they were joined by an itinerant monk on
permanent loan from New Zealand. This job had to be done
quickly before the flooring could be put down and the bunks
themselves installed.
Pete Hobson could not be present until
later in the week, so was distraught to learn that the Hobgoblin
cask would not be tapped until after he had gone. |

Up on the roof
..... Well, actually off the roof, John Lister
spent the day looking for suitable stone with which to repair the
chimney. The weather was vile and every half-hour, he came in
to warm up. | |
