COVID-19 Information and Access Strategy

COVID-19 Officer - Paul Meredith, This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

With effect from 31st July 2020, SWCC headquarters will be available for limited use, which includes day visitors primarily visiting to collect and return cave keys.

To enable these activities, SWCC have developed a COVID strategy designed to allow the use of the HQ within the current requirements of Welsh Government rules and guidelines. The success of this will be dependent on all who visit the HQ acting responsibly and as directed by the access arrangements.

HQ Access

Firstly, do not visit the HQ if you are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms and/or living in a household with a possible COVID-19 infection.

Currently, access to the HQ buildings for visitors is strictly limited to the porch area of Cottage No 3 (entrance to changing rooms). All other buildings are closed except in an emergency and must not be entered.

SWCC has a responsibility under the Welsh Government Test Trace Protect strategy. On arrival at the HQ:

Both of these are located in the wooden box as shown below.

The toilets in the porch are available for use. Please take personal responsibility for maintaining cleanliness as there are no cleaners. In particular, users must clean the toilets and basins before and after use using the cleaning materials provided. Do not put any wipes down the toilet as they will compromise the operation of the septic tank.

Whilst at the HQ, maintain social distancing with particular attention in and around Cottage No 3.

Regrettably, we are currently unable to have Non-Members stay overnight on the HQ site. This is to allow the Committee to get used to and optimise the new systems and way of working. We thank you for your patience during this time.

Following your visit to the HQ and/or OFD, please make known to the This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. details of any suspected or confirmed COVID-19 cases.
