At the club's 70th anniversary a major project was launched to replace the roof on the club HQ and thus secure it as a base for caving in South Wales for the foreseeable future. This is a major undertaking that will involve the club in fund raising and planning activities for the at least the remainder of this decade.
The roof replacement project is now well advanced and two conceptual designs have been developed. Once budget costing of each design is complete, the preferred design will be selected and taken through to detailed design followed by contract document preparation. It is anticipated that tender preparation, submission and evaluation will take place during the autumn of 2020 and a preferred contractor will be selected by the end of 2020. The start date on site is scheduled to be mid May 2022.
