Digging Week - 23rd-30th August

As the year is an even number, it's time for the bi-annual assault on the miles of missing cave. As usual this will start on the Aug Bank Holiday weekend, so put the 23rd - 30th Aug in your shiny new 2014 diary. Plans are already being hatched for a clockwork-caving approach to the cave at Twyn Tal-Draenan (with camping up there an option if the weather is on our side), but suggestions for other projects are always welcome. Contact Tony Baker for more info, or just turn up and help out! New faces always welcome, come and discover the, ahem, joys of digging.

Waterfalls and car security - from Tony Baker

The persistent wet weather over the Christmas holiday made our local waterfalls even more spectacular than usual, and this encouraged sight-seers. Sadly the local criminal fraternity have cottoned on to this; two cars had their rear windows smashed at the Henryhd car park on Mon 30th Dec (shortly before a group of members arrived on foot), and the police officer who attended the scene told us that another three cars had been attacked at one of the other local waterfalls on the same day. If you are parking at any of the popular local sites beware, and leave nothing of value in the car.

Have you got Dave's blue fleece? Dave Dobson's dark blue Dragon fleece undersuit was removed from the drying room over new year (probably by mistake), there was one in it’s place but it’s not his! His has Dave marked in black ink on the Dragon label, if anyone has it then he has yours, can we exchange please? Contact Dave

Over the Christmas break Tony Baker found a carrier bag with two items of SRT kit in it, left in the locker room at SWCC. He has put them somewhere safe, contact Tony and describe the items if they're yours.

Left at SWCC over Xmas. Anyone lost: a large dry bag with a new Warmbac lightweight suit (mens), wetsuit and other bits inside it. Or a yellow bum bag with a small First Aid kit inside. Contact Toby Dryden
