Annual
North Wales Mines trip 13/14th June – report
Some 21 club members made the annual pilgrimage to the mines of North Wales staying at the excellent Mynydd
Mountaineering Club hut. Trips included Cwmorthin, Milwr Tunnel, Park 2 and 3 and Minllyn Slate mine. Evening entertainment included full participation in a top notch curry in Llanwrst, withouth the traditional wait to be served.
Many thatnks to Allan for organising the event and to Chris for dealing with the curry pre-order details.
More Mines - Claire Vivian
There is a SWCC trip organised to Parys
Mountain copper mines on Saturday 19th September. There is the
possibility of using Llanberis as a base, which is around 1hr away
from Parys Mountain, or staying on Anglesey itself. We currently
have 1 leader booked (for 6 people), but could have more if there
is interest there. It could also easily be made into a full weekend
with possibilities of other mines in the area, Ogof Hesp Alyn, walking
in Snowdonia or zip wire, rafting etc. for the 20th September.
